Our Detailed AS/400 Backup as a Service Process
When you choose Abacus Solutions for AS/400 Backup as a Service, you'll be lead through a comprehensive checklist by our managed services team to ensure your backup process goes off without a hitch.
As part of a pre-services engagement, the Abacus sales and technical team will conduct a review of your existing environment.
Abacus will then provide an initial sales quote for review and to confirm your team’s continued interest.
Qualify & Initiate
Our technical team will work with you to confirm and customize a solution based on our review and your business needs. Once details are finalized, we will provide a sales contract to be initiated.
During the kickoff call, we provide a support overview and customize a plan to complete the initial services. Details of the contract are then reviewed and confirmed. Lastly, we’ll review the Abacus Customer Portal so you know where to find support resources and ticketing services.
Network and Hardware Reconfiguration
As contracted, we work with your team to establish and test necessary network connections, as well as recommending and providing needed hardware for a more cost effective, easier to manage, and more resilient environment moving forward.
Typical migrations and implementations are scheduled over a long weekend with the environment offline during the migration. We have solutions to reduce and/or eliminate environment downtime to the business. Typically, the less downtime, the larger the effort and higher the cost.
Once any new hardware arrives at the appropriate Abacus datacenter, we’ll setup the hardware and establish power, ping, and pipe. The environment is then made available for testing purposes.
Once live testing has been completed and confirmed, the environment is presented to your team for Go Live.
- Operations and Network Management
As contracted, we setup your new environment with the appropriate level of operations and network management.
Backups and Disaster Recovery
As contracted, we setup your new environment with the appropriate level of backup management and disaster recovery.
We let the environment settle to confirm it is running in the Abacus Cloud as best as possible. The additional management and disaster recovery services are then tested to ensure they are running properly. After initial migration and implementation is complete, we shift to standard support activities and response.
When a go live date is agreed upon and scheduling is finalized, we’ll perform an environment turnkey relocation. Abacus provides a white glove service, owning the relocation from start to finish.
As part of on-going services, we will continue to provide support as contracted and be available for additional IT infrastructure needs with coterminous addition/subtractions to the support contract.
If/When support is canceled, we will take the environment offline, remove physical hardware, and delete any virtual data. The hardware and/or data can then be made available for purchase, assuming all outstanding payments have been made.
